Does God have a Nationality?

This question was asked by my 7 year old son, Nathaniel.  The easy answer is No.

Having said that, I was intrigued by the profoundness of the question. I was curious to know the thought process that brought out this question.  

The world according to Nathaniel, as seen on CNN; people killing each other to claim a land as their own.
The most recent event, was the Moscow train blast, the regular Iraqi, Pakistani blasts.  All most every breaking news is an event of death(s).

He is being taught in school, about the love of God, universality of God and at his age it confuses him. To Nathaniel, if God is one, why are people doing what they do and seem to enjoy it, justifying it on TV? (keeping the long story short)

As a father, I am challenged by this question.  We know the answer to the question, how do I explain the killings (not justify) in the name of God?
